Adventure Awaits

The birthplace of commercial bungy jumpy is the historic Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown. Back in 1988, pioneers AJ Hackett and Henry van Asch launched the world's first commercially operated bungy jumping site here, and it has since become one of the most popular activities for visitors to the Gibbston Valley in Queenstown. Take a leap from 43 metres about the ground and experience the rush as you hurtle (safely) towards the water below.

I was very nervous but the staff totally put me at ease. I ended up doing a tandem swing with staff member Ellie because I was nervous and she was so friendly and calming. If you’re nervous but tempted to try it just go for it .. after the initial drop (which is very quick) it’s not scary at all, and I think the swing is the best choice for people like me who would never have the nerve to jump off the platform on your own. Very glad I did it!
