1 Day Whitsundays Southern Lights Tour - Ocean Rafting |
Airlie Beach
Multi award winning Ocean Rafting visits the “Wild Side” of the Whitsunday Islands, the uninhabited islands with beautiful natural scenery brimming with marine, bird and animal life. Each Ocean Rafting day offers three days in one, including an exhilarating ride to Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet, pristine snorkelling reefs and guided Whitsunday Island National Parks walks. Ocean Rafting offers the ultimate access to the stunning and iconic Hill Inlet beach and special snorkel sites at Hook Island and Border Island ensure a memorable underwater experience.
The semi rigid inflatable vessels are super fast allowing guests to experience a fun ride, adventure and education amongst the natural beauty of the Whitsundays. 32 passengers at most allows for personal snorkelling lessons and the pleasure of a small group. A buffet style lunch is served (for those purchasing the "included lunch" package or you can brig your own) at the beach with plenty of time to swim in the turquoise ocean or just relax on the silica white sand.
Ocean Rafting has been operating since 1997 and is proud to have special permits allowing its vessels to visit protected areas in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The Skipper and Eco Host will ensure guests have a fun filled adventure and personalised service with snorkel lessons and a guided National Park walk in the Whitsunday Islands.
The Southern Lights tour visits both the northern and southern ends of Whitehaven Beach. Enjoy approximately two hours relaxing on the world famous white silica sand and enjoy a guided bushwalk to spectacular Hill Inlet Lookout to view and capture photographs of the stunning swirling silica sands and aqua water. Snorkel for over an hour at Border Island, Dumbell Island or one of our “secret” snorkel spots, enjoying the amazing hard and soft corals of the fringing reefs.
The main difference between Ocean Rafting’s two tours is that the Southern Lights has more beach time and the Northern Exposure offers more snorkelling time.

Courtesy coach pick-ups are available from local hotels, motels, caravan parks and hostels from 7:45-8.15am for the Northern Exposure tour and from 8:45-9:30 am for the Southern Lights tour. If you are making your own way to our office for check-in, please make sure that you arrive by 8am for our Northern Exposure tour and 9am for our Southern Lights tour. Courtesy coach pick-ups must be pre-booked 24 hours in advance. Please reconfirm pick-up time/location by calling Ocean Rafting.

Queensland Public Holidays Surcharge: Public holidays will incur a surcharge of $20 per adult, $10 per child and $50 per family (2ad and 2ch) on the Northern Exposure, Southern Lights and Fly Raft package, as well as charters. Scenic flights will NOT incur a surcharge. A list of dates can be found at www.oceanrafting.com.au under the terms and conditions tab.

Drinks, snacks and sunsuit/wetsuit hire are optional extras.
Sunsuit/Wetsuit hire is payable on check-in $8 per person - FREE for students/seniors and children (0 -14).
