Snorkel Tours operate daily December - April

(Whale Watching Tours operating only May - October)

 

2.5km off Byron Bay’s Main Beach a rock formation called known locally by it Indigenous name of ‘Nguthungulli‘. Also known as Julian Rocks Nature Reserve, this rocky outcrop is rated as one of the best dive sites in Australia. This incredible place offers protected safe and shallow waters perfect for snorkelling and freediving. Sitting off the most easterly point of Australia, Julian Rocks is a convergence point of warm tropical and cooler temperate waters, making it a marine wildlife hotspot! Whales, Dolphins, Manta Rays, Leopard Sharks, Grey Nurse Sharks and Turtles are all common visitors. It's a perfect environment for snorkelling and freediving with prolific fish life and multiple areas to explore.

Enjoy the sights of the Byron coastline onboard our comfortable purpose built vessel “Out Of The Blue”. We often encounter local dolphins and other marine life on the way to Julian Rocks!

 

Please note: This activity is subject to ocean and weather conditions. We advise to book your tour earlier in your vacation, in case your tour needs to be rescheduled.

 

Attention Groups

Please book all in one order or add to your notes that you are with another group, so we can try our best to sit you together.

 

 

RESTRICTIONS

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age is 5yrs and must be comfortable in the water and able to swim 200m unassisted. Not suitable for pregnant women or anyone with a back or spine injury. 

If at any point during the activity, our crew members determine that snorkellers are unable to swim 100m unassisted, they will not be able to participate in the activity and will be asked to remain on the vessel. No refund will be offered. It is a requirement of our tour to be a competent swimmer for snorkeling and diving activities at the Julian Rocks Nature Reserve, which is too deep to stand.

Times may differ depending on the date and conditions, but generally we have 

9:00am, 11:30am & 2:00pm

Day 1 : Experience

The vessel departs from Brunswick Heads Marina, NSW. This is a 15-20min drive north of Byron Bay
