Day 2: Overnight South Sea Island - Meals Included
Early coach pick up from your hotel to transfer you to Port Denarau in time to check in for the 9:00 am departure for your “Seaspray Day Adventure”. Passengers travel to and from Mana Island on board our fast catamaran (where you will then transfer directly to the Seaspray yacht) to maximise the cruising time amongst the beautiful island areas. There’s nothing like a day at sea to ignite a big appetite so we include morning and afternoon tea plus a BBQ lunch. All your drinks are included as well with wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee available throughout the day while onboard Seaspray. After your “Seaspray Day Adventure” you will be transferred to South Sea Island for your overnight stay. South Sea Island is a tiny island but what a place - surrounded by crystal clear waters, coral reefs and home to ’thousands of tropical fish. You can stand on the beach on one side and watch the sunrise and later that day walk for all of a minute to the other side to watch the sunset! There’s a saltwater swimming pool and non-motorised watersports equipment available free of charge. Take in the underwater world by snorkelling or aboard the semi-submersible. South Sea is also a great place to learn to dive. Our expert instructors and the shallow water with great clarity ensure your first dives will be memorable. The marine life and coral you’ll see will amaze you. Perhaps take a dive on our wreck. There is a traditional Meke performance and craft market put on every day at lunchtime (except Sundays) whilst you enjoy the BBQ buffet feast. Come the evening there is no more tranquil place to be – cold drink in hand and just the lapping of the waves. Located in the Mamanuca Islands just 30 minutes from Port Denarau, it’s the perfect pre and post Yasawa touring accommodation and with five arrival/departure times a day it’s easy to get to. The island has a 32 bed dorm with a large deck and sun loungers as well as 3 Double Bures. Tiny in size but big on awesomeness!
Day 3: Overnight Nabua Lodge - Meals Included
After breakfast check out of your accommodation and board the Yasawa Flyer at 9:00 am to travel to the stunning Blue Lagoon region. Arrive around 1:00 pm. During your time at Nabua Lodge you have two activities included: Sawa-i-Lau Caves trip and Blue Lagoon snorkelling. The boat trip up to the caves is worth doing for its own sake but then there’s the magical experience of the caves themselves. No diving experience is required to enter the main cavern as it’s just a few easy steps down from the beach. We do recommend that you take the option to enter the secondary cavern where you need to swim through an underwater tunnel. See your resort for details – this trip is operated by Joe’s Water Taxi’s daily except Sunday. The Blue Lagoon is simply stunning. It is a large lagoon that laps at the golden sand beaches of the islands that surround it. The water shimmers all sorts of blue and it beckons all into its delicious depths! Experience the beautiful coral and fish that swim beneath the lagoon on a snorkelling trip! Take your underwater camera if you have one! Please arrange to hire snorkelling equipment directly with your resort or take your own if you have it!
Day 4: Overnight Nabua Lodge - Meals Included
Enjoy Island walks, magnificent beaches and coral reefs. Hit the beach at sunset and watch for the flying fish! Nabua Lodge - this small, family-run property is located on the famous Blue Lagoon and is set in a secluded tropical landscape with a picturesque white sandy beach all of its own. Nabua Lodge offers traditional Fijian style and experience with comfort and awesome hospitality! Take a snorkelling trip out into the lagoon to view magnificent corals and fish. At night, fall asleep to the sound of waves gently lapping the beach and palm trees swaying in the cool ocean breeze.
Day 5: Overnight Mantaray Island Resort
1:00 pm afternoon departure on board the Yasawa Flyer down South to Mantaray Resort, arriving around 2:45 pm. Mantaray Resort is ideally nestled between two gorgeous white sandy beaches. The dining room and bar are set atop a hill with glorious views out over the surrounding islands. What a scene for that sunset cocktail! There are communal tables for mixing and mingling as well as tables for two. Down below on the beach is a lounge, a bar and pizza bure. Set along the shore and in the trees are the bures, Fijian wood and straw huts, where you can fall asleep each night to the sounds of the sea. Just off the beach is one of the best snorkeling areas you’ll find in the Yasawas. Manta rays cruise the nearby channels (seasonal), over 40 dive sites are in range and there is also excellent fishing to be had. There are hammocks, two beaches for topping up the tan, cool drinks to be had and friends to be met. During your time at Mantaray you have the choice of three activities to choose from (one included but you can also book/pay directly to the resort should you wish to do the others). Enjoy a sunset tube trip while you're here, a great way to chill out with a drink in hand, floating along the water (in a tube or boat) watching the sunset.
Day 6: Overnight Mantaray Island Resort
If you didn’t choose to do the Sunset Tube Trip, then choose from two other activities. You can swim with the manta rays (May to October) one of the most amazing experiences the natural world has to offer! These magnificent, majestic creatures come to this particular channel between two islands each day on the change of tide to feed. No photograph will prepare you for that first sighting of them. The mantas don’t seem to mind swimmers so there’s a good chance your encounter will be a lengthy one as they turn and glide in the waters beneath you, huge mouths open to feed on the plankton. Or, join a guided snorkelling trip (November to April). Mantaray Resorts’s unique guided snorkelling trips provide insightful information on the hundreds of species of fish, corals and marine life that inhabit the reserve directly in front of the resort. Guides ride in kayaks to offer support and reassurance for those less comfortable with snorkelling. Guided snorkelling trips operate on demand at mid to high tide. Please arrange to hire snorkelling equipment directly with your resort or take your own if you have it!
Day 7: Overnight Wayalailai Ecohaven Resort - Meals Included
Morning free at Mantaray. 2:45 pm - afternoon departure from Mantaray Resort on board the Yasawa Flyer to the southernmost islands of the chain which are dominated by stunning monolithic mountains. Summit walks, reef snorkelling, swimming with the sharks or guided kayaking all await you. Arrive at Wayalialai Ecohaven Resort around 3:45 pm. Wayalailai is set in a beautiful scenic area with a truly amazing summit walk and spectacular views of the islands. You’ll be welcomed by the locals and made to feel a part of their village. The resort sits on the hillside with views across the channel to the amazing rock formations on Kuata Island. The dining room has a large outside deck area to take in the view while dining or sipping an ice cold drink. The beautiful beach is a short stroll below. Wayalailai Ecohaven Resort also offers a wide variety of land and marine activities from diving to trekking. Or perhaps you’d just prefer to laze for hours on that gorgeous beach and top up your tan.
Day 8: Overnight Wayalailai Ecohaven Resort - Meals Included
During your stay you have one activity included. Choose from reef snorkelling or a shark swim at Moua Reef, only a short boat ride from the white sandy beaches of Barefoot Kuata, Naqalia and Wayalailai Islands. A spectacular site from above and below the water, it has an abundance of colourful fish and beautiful corals. This outer reef is also home to some “friendly” reef sharks that you can snorkel with – gets the adrenalin pumping but they eat fish not people so no need to worry.
Day 9: Overnight Smugglers Cove - Breakfast Included
Free day at Wayalailai. Late afternoon (3:45 pm) you will board the Yasawa Flyer to travel south back to Port Denarau (Nadi) arriving at approximately 6:00 pm. A coach transfer will be available to take you to your accommodation. Smugglers Cove is a fantastic place to end an adventure in Fiji and set on Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi Bay. A backpackers and hotel rolled into one with quality rooms and dorms. Also has a girls-only dorm. Enjoy a cold beer or a meal in the Ghost Ship Bar & Restaurant overlooking the pool and the beach. A modern, comfortable, friendly place popular with international travellers. Approximately 20-minute transfer to the Airport or Port Denarau and only five minutes drive to Martintar bars and restaurants. Our ‘Departure Pack’ at Smugglers Cove Resort includes transfers from Port Denarau to your accommodation • Accommodation as chosen • Breakfast the next morning • Transfer from your accommodation to the airport the next day.
