One of New Zealand's most spectacular walks awaits you! On the north end of New Zealand's South Island lies the Abel Tasman National Park and Abel Coast Tasman track. In the morning, take a trek from Marahau to Anchorage, and then sit back and relax in the afternoon as our catamaran sails you back from Anchorage to Kaiteriteri.

Itinerary

Day 1: Full Day Walk & Sail
The perfect combination of active and relaxed is this tour! Starting at 8:30 am, you will take an invigorating 12km trek through lush native forest from Marahau to Anchorage. Enjoy the beautiful coastal bays, look out for wildlife and take plenty of pictures! Once you reach Anchorage Beach, join your sailing tour (1:30 pm at the latest) and let nature do the hard work from here on in. Sail the best of the coastline to Kaiteriteri and enjoy free transfers at the end of the day back to your vehicle.

The Specifics

Departure Days: Subject to availability 

Departure Times: Start walk from Abel Tasman National Park (Marahau, corner of Harvey Road) at 8:30 am

Check-in: Meet skipper at Anchorage Bay beach at 1:00 pm for sail at 1:30 pm

Tour Returns: 4:30 pm return to Kaiteriteri (courtesy transfer back to Marahau provided)

Additional Costs:

  • BYO own lunch or purchase a packed picnic lunch at own expense (must pre-book)
  • Transfers from Nelson to Marahau available (return and one way rates) 
  • Transfers from Motueka to Marahau available (return and one way rates)

We did the Sail and Walk option - It was a brilliant day. We were picked up at Marahau with a free shuttle back to Kaiterietiri - had a bit of time to get a coffee before starting the sailing - sailed slowly up to Anchorage - hopped off the boat and slowly walked our way back to Marahau. The walk was easy and a lovely way to see the Able Tasman. We stopped at a couple of beaches and took our time walking back to the car - walk time was 3 and half hours but we took 5 hours with stops. Communication with the company was good. Would recommend this - easy to medium fitness required for walk. Thanks
