You will drive your own 8 seater 4x4's to Tour Highlights:
Spend a full 3 days exploring the Island in a fully guided convoy of 8-seater vehicles that you can have a go driving (as long as you have a full driver's license!). Visit amazing fresh water lakes and creeks such as the stunning Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby, Eli Creek and much more. See the old Maheno Shipwreck and check out the views from Indian Head before jumping into the Champagne Pools to relax. Marvel at the ancient Rainforest that uniquely grows straight from the sand. This tour has plenty of time to see each location so there's no rushing around. It's super sociable so it doesn't matter if you're traveling on your own or in a group - you're bound to make loads of new friends on this trip!
The first vehicle in the convoy has a Lead Driver/Guide to show everyone around and help out with the vehicles if you have any trouble. You don't have to drive if you don't want to! Full instruction on using the 4WD is provided as well as assistance and navigation on the Island so there's nothing to worry about.
In the evenings, you will stay at the K'Gari campsite, which is our permanent campsite on the Island. There are toilet and shower facilities available here. All food is provided, but in the form of ingredients and recipes which your group of 8 will cook together - this is a really social activity and can be great fun.
This tour departs and finises at the Dingos Hostel in Rainbow Beach. If you are travelling by Campervan or are camping, you can just book the tour only. Otherwise, we strongly recommend booking the tour with 2 nights in Rainbow Beach (1 before the tour, 1 after) or even with 3 nights in Rainbow Beach (2 before, 1 after) to really have a change to see the town and beach.
The itinerary for this tour of Fraser Island is very flexible as the driver/guides are able to change it up depending on conditions such as weather/crowds/tide times/etc. This means that they can ensure you experience the best of Fraser Island while you are there. There's plenty of time to travel around the Island though at a relaxed pace so there's no worries here!
*You will need to attend a compulsory briefing meeting at the Dingos Hostel at 4pm on the day before your tour in order to go over everything on Fraser Island. If you do not attend, you might not be able to go on the tour.
Departs: Daily (except December 23rd/25th/30th and 1st Jan) from the Dingos Hostel in Rainbow Beach
Sleeping bag hire if needed - $10
