The Barossa Valley is world renowned for it's food and wine, the wines in particular have become praised all over the world for their unique flavours. This tour will include a number of wine tastings at different areas within the expansive region. It will include visits to four wineries, each offering their own distinctive wines as well as a gourmet lunch and a chance to admire the view from the Mengler's Hill Lookout.
The Barossa Valley is Australia’s most famous wine region. The day starts with a trip through the Adelaide Hills, where you can check out the largest Rocking Horse in the world and the amazing engineering of the Whispering Wall - built more than 100 years ago, before moving on to the first wine tasting experience at Jacob's Creek. The Jacob's Creek Visitors centre details the history of the world famous brand before allowing you to sample some of their most popular wines in an educational wine tasting.
The next winery you will be visiting Kies, which is family owned and has been in the region for 30 years. It is known for its emphasis on quality over quantity, selling their wines exclusively from their cellar door. You will have the opportunity to taste some of these unrivalled wines while your guide begins to prepare lunch.
Lunch is a quintessential Australian Barbeque, where you can sample some Aussie favourites, like marinated kangaroo, along with some classics, like chicken, steak, sausages and a variety of fresh salads.
Next stop is the Chateau Yaldara, where you will be able to sample some of their wines before moving onto the Mengler's Hill Lookout to get a birds eye view of the valley and expansive landscape below.
The final stop will be the the historic Seppeltsfield, one of the oldest wineries in the area, before returning to Adelaide by about 5pm.
